Welcome, the video series I will be producing will be taking you through all the Steps and Optimization of Wordpress. Wordpress is an excellent choice for a website and is used by major corporations. Just as Linux an Open Source program has taken the technology world by storm so is Wordpress.

This video will an overview of what we will be covering in this video series. One thing that I stress is I try to keep the videos around five (5) minutes. Sometime the goal of the title may not be met until the second video in a series. There has been much discussion on video on the internet and the bottom line with so many things vying for your attention I have decided to keep the videos within the 5 minute range. There will be times it does go above the 5 minute range but that is our guideline.

Welcome, this video will start the process of learning how to add Wordpress manually. The first question people ask is why would you want to install it manually? Well some webhosts if you use the Fantastico automatic way of installing Wordpress, have automatically updated peoples websites without being ready for them.

What I mean by not being ready for them is sometimes just because Wordpress comes out with a new release does not mean that you want to jump right on it. The reason for this is you can be on a nice stable and secure release of Wordpress and then as an example when it goes from Release 2.5 to 2.6 the early 2.6 may have a security bug that may not get fixed until 2.6.1.

In addition you need to also ensure that your plug-ins, which extends the features of Wordpress work with any new releases.

The first step to this manual installation is to add a new MySQL database.
